H&M’s overly anticipated first collaboration with an American designer it is schedule to hit 250 of their retail stores worldwide and online on November 6th. The American designer is no other than the ever-growing, super cool kid and Master Alexander Wang!
I am personally super excited about this and was even more excited about being able to work backstage last Thursday at the collection’s launch presentation. I was responsible for dressing these two fierce beautiful tomb raiders, Anna Ewers and Nadja Bender. This opportunity gave me the chance to see and feel these garments first hand before they hit retail stores.
As the look book and earlier advertising indicated the collection’s main inspiration was extreme sports with an urban feel, in New York’s favorite color palette of Black and Gray. A smart choice for a collection due to the current fascination going on in health and fitness in today’s society.
There will be 38 pieces on the women’s line, with price points ranging from $17.95 for awesome thigh high socks embossed with Wang’s logo, to parka and jackets retailing for $349, and everything in between.
“The result is a collection to be worn on the street, in the gym, at the club, the way women live their lives today” H&M
Men’s collection will carry 23 pieces, including tee shirts, down jackets, shorts, foot wear and accessories.
My personal favorites were these pieces below; leather backpack, cropped embossed sweatshirts, cropped tanks, and a Yoga Mat!!! Yes Please!
