Hey Street Art Lovers! This week we are taking it back to the streets. We are saying good riddance 2016! with a festive story shot in Bushwick; Brooklyn’s colorful street art mecca.
Bushwick is one of the popular areas where street art is loved and encouraged. A lot has changed from the times when street art was considered an act of vandalism and hoodlumism. Today artists and collective groups like the Bushwick Collective are collaborating with local business owners in the beautification of the once bleak neighborhood.
The Bushwick Collective founded in 2012 by Joe Ficalora it’s a multi-collaborate group of creators from all around the world. Big street artists like Buff Monster have contributed to this vibrantly growing street art movement. I recently watched Complex’s original documentary ‘No Free Walls‘ a behind look of the Bushwick Collective. Check out the full documentary HERE – It’s a cool alternative way to spend one of those free days during the Holiday.
We visited the Jefferson street and Troutman street locations for this blog piece, but the public art district is so much bigger. The L train to the Jefferson Street station will be your best way to start your mission.
As a way to commemorate the end of 2016, I wore my Local Natives’ Sunlit Youth 2016 Tour Tee. The Local Natives are one of my beloved bands out of California. James and I experienced their magic live and I got these amazing tee-shirt as memorabilia.

We shot a week ago right after the snow storm. I haven’t stroll in the snow in stilettos since many moons ago. I’m proud to report I didn’t fall 🤗
Happy Holidays! I’m looking forward to a peaceful and Optimistic 2017.
Let’s unite, get organized and support each other. Community is Love and Love Trumps All.✌🏼💖
